A Cold Winter’s Night

The December chill set in this week, so I’m shivering in my apartment, wishing that brownstones had slightly more reliable heating.  But I have a cup of hot tea and a fluffy robe and a lovely new set of holiday cards that are keeping me warm tonight.

‘Tis the Season

As the streets of New York start to chill and my family is abuzz about holiday gatherings, the Christmas market at Union Square is my official marker that the season has begun.  I love wandering through the booths, looking at delicately crafted jewelry, soaps of all shapes and smells, and chunky knitted hats, while sipping hot chocolate and eating soft, warm pretzels.  I spend hours there every year, finding everything from beautiful clocks made of reclaimed wood to adorable Freudian slippers.  After weeks of anticipation, the market is up now and I’ve had my first fix of the holiday splendor, so I feel I can finally say: Happy Holidays!
